Important notice

We strongly do not recommend upgrading repeaters with firmware not listed in this article. By information of Motorola they are going to discontinue access to IPSC for all application partners. Future releases will support connectivity via Wireline only with a special extra-cost developer license.

Issues with connectivity

Authentication

Several times we got an issue with an empty password (same as on Hytera). Please check the Status page of your BrandMeister Server. The field “Interpretation” will contain the text “Authentication is On” if your repeater has a non-empty password field. To solve this problem you need to fill some text into the password field and upload the codeplug into the repeater, then clear the password and upload the codeplug again. Note: BrandMeister can be configured to use authentication.

NAT traversal / firewalls / port forwarding

Mostly you have issues with your router or firewall if the field “Interpretation” contains the text “XNL is not connected”. In this case messages sent by the server were not delivered to the repeater. BrandMeister Server is friendly for NAT traversal and does not require any special settings.

Issues on operations

Continuous TX-ing

This situation happens when synchronous beaconing is on at your BrandMeister Server and the repeater codeplug has the wrong beacon duration. To solve this issue please set the beacon values as shown in the picture:

Repeater does not transmit calls from the server

This situation happens when the repeater codeplug has the wrong value of RSSI Threshold, due to the specifics of internal call arbitration. To solve this issue please set the values as shown in the picture:
